Short stories are not a favourite genre of mine, but I have enjoyed others of Michael Crummey's books, and am interested in the history and culture of Newfoundland and Labrador.

But like other authors' short stories, these seemed to go nowhere, after skipping around chronologically and confusedly.4/5.
